BS/MDAccelerated Medicine Programs (Allopathic)
Direct-admit BS/MD programs let highly motivated students bypass the traditional medical school application cycle — guaranteeing an MD seat upon undergraduate completion. Programs range from 6 to 9 years and are extremely competitive. All links go directly to the program's official admissions page. Source: AAMC 2025–2026.
💡
UNB Tip: NJ residents have a meaningful edge at Rutgers NJMS and RWJMS. These 7-year programs are among the most accessible BS/MD pathways in the country for in-state applicants. Strong science GPA, clinical shadowing, and a compelling "why medicine" narrative are the three pillars.
BS/DOCombined Osteopathic Medicine Programs
BS/DO programs provide a guaranteed or conditional pathway to an osteopathic medical school (DO) from high school. DO graduates have identical practice rights to MDs in all 50 states and have competed in the same residency match since 2020. Programs range from 7–8 years and are less competitive than BS/MD, making them excellent strategic targets.
💡
UNB Tip:BS/DO programs are significantly underutilized by NJ students. Rutgers–Camden / Rowan-Virtua SOM offers a true 7-year pathway for NJ residents — and FDU/LECOM is another strong local option. DO physicians practice with full scope in every specialty. These programs often have stronger acceptance rates than their MD equivalents and are a cornerstone of our NJ pre-health strategy.
DDS · DMD · PharmDDental & Pharmacy Pathways
Direct-admit dental (BS/DDS or BS/DMD) and pharmacy (3+3 or 3+4 PharmD) programs allow students to lock in a professional school seat from day one of undergrad — with significantly less competition than BS/MD. These hidden-gem pathways are a major focus of UNB's pre-health advising for NJ and national students.
💡
UNB Tip: The key differentiators for dental and pharmacy programs are shadowing hours (aim for 100+ in your specific field), a clear personal "why" statement, and strong science coursework. NJ students — Rutgers EMSOP's 3+3 PharmD is among the most prestigious direct-entry pharmacy programs in the nation. Start building your profile in 10th or 11th grade — not senior year.

Allied Health & Technology
BSN · NursingTop Undergraduate Nursing Programs
The following programs represent the most prestigious and highest-ranked Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs in the country, as recognized by US News, NCLEX pass rates, and clinical placement outcomes. Many offer direct-entry BSN for high school students. Programs with strong NJ/regional ties are highlighted.
💡
UNB Tip: Nursing is one of the most in-demand professions in the country. For NJ students, Rutgers and TCNJ offer some of the strongest in-state BSN programs. NCLEX first-time pass rates and clinical rotation placement diversity are key metrics to compare across programs. Ask about BSN-to-MSN or BSN-to-DNP pathways early.
OT · PT · Allied HealthOccupational Therapy, Physical Therapy & Bachelor's Allied Health
These programs offer direct-entry or early-assurance pathways into OT (MOT/OTD) and PT (DPT) doctoral programs, as well as strong undergraduate tracks in allied health sciences. Many feature combined BS/MOT or BS/DPT formats. OT and PT are two of the fastest-growing healthcare professions with outstanding job security and work-life balance.
💡
UNB Tip: OT and PT doctoral programs are highly competitive — GPA, observation hours, and letters from licensed therapists are essential. NJ students — Kean, Seton Hall, and Rutgers Health all offer strong combined or direct-entry pathways. Start your observation hours in 10th or 11th grade. Both fields offer exceptional career satisfaction, high employment rates, and growing telehealth opportunities.
The most prestigious undergraduate CS and CE programs in the country — ranked by reputation, research output, industry placement, and innovation ecosystem. All linked to NCES profiles for net cost comparisons. Includes Ivies, elite private schools, and top public institutions with world-class tech programs.
💡
UNB Tip: For CS/CE, portfolio matters as much as GPA. Start coding projects in 9th or 10th grade — GitHub activity, hackathon results, and personal apps are all compelling differentiators. NJ students — NJIT's Ying Wu College of Computing is one of the most underrated programs in the Northeast for CS and CE, with outstanding co-op/internship pipelines. Rutgers CS with a business minor is another powerful combination for careers in fintech and consulting.
